 YS corporation was founded
in 1986 by Osamu Yamamoto.
Mr.Yamamoto had worked for the
Japan Hammond Company for 15 years
beforing establishing this corporation.
He has bought and sold
Hammond Organs in Japan for many
years ( over 100 Organs to date
) and has developed a growing
interest through out Japan in Jazz
Organ music, and the preservation
of Hammond Organ tone-wheel
technology.
YS corporation provides service
and maintenance to the many owners
of Hammond Organs in Japan.
Mr.Yamamoto has increased the
awareness of the original and authentic
Jazz Organ sound by installing
Hammond B-3 Organs and Leslie
Tone cabinets in numerous clubs
through out Japan. These include: Rug Time OSAKA in Umeda, Osaka: Tezukayama
Rug Time in Tezukayama, Osaka
:JAZZ ON TOP in Umeda Osaka : and le
club Jazz in Sanjo ,Kyoto and
Red Top
in Chigusa-ku ,Nagoya.
Mr.Yamamoto was the first to
install an Organ in a Tokyo club
when he brought Jazz Organ to
The
Bash in Roppongi, Tokyo. His
efforts to create interest in
Jazz Organ in this country are
now legendary.
YS corporation has provided Hammond
Organ and Leslie speekers
to the famous Blue Note clubs
in Osaka and Fukuoka .
Here, visiting Jazz Organists
have the opportunity to perform
on reliable and great-sounding
Organs. These Jazz Organists have
included : Jimmy Smith , Jack McDuff , Jimmy
McGriff , Dr.Lonnie Smith , Joey DeFrancesco
, Larry Goldings. In fact, Jimmy Smith made his famous
'The Master' and 'The Master
' recordings on YS corporation
owned Hammond Organs.
Each year Mr. Yamamoto produced
a Jazz Organ concert that showcases
the many Japanese Organists.
Players like
Yuri Tashiro who has gained noteriety in
Japan and Masa Matsuda
who is best known for his playing
on the
YAMAHA Electone, have both performed in these YS corporation
events
The famous Nakanoshima Town Hall has been
the location for
many shows. A recently produced
event
featured four Organs and a big
band on one stage !
Mr.Yamamoto has provided invaluable
experience to many Japanese
Jazz Organists by arranging for
them to play with visiting Jazz
Organ masters from the United
States. Some exciting examples
of this have been Jack McDuff live performance at le club
Jazz in Kyoto : Dr Lonnie Smith tour in September of 2000
: Bill Heid's many shows
through out Japan and sylvia cuenca organ trio tour 1st.
in March of 2003,2nd.in July
of 2004 3rd.in Augsut of 2005.
Mr.Yamamoto and YS corporation
estabished his 'YS Organ-ize record
label' which is a pioneering
effort to seek-out and record the
finest young Jazz Organists in
Japan. His first release, '
Green's Blues' featured the gifted
Organist Midori Ono. This
was followed in October 1999
by a live recording from le club
Jazz that featured both Midori Ono and the exciting Atsuko
Hashimoto called ' Jazz Organ
Tribute'. Both of these popular
CDs are available through
YS corporation and selected web
sites.
YS corporation and YS organ-ize
records will continue to record
and release new Japanese Jazz
Organ music

#1 Don Shop
Atsuko Hashimoto and Midori Ono
alternate their shows at the
Don Shop every wednesday, Thursday
and most Fridays. Performance
often go late into the night
as other famous musicians from the
Osaka BlueNote (located directly
across the street) stop in after
their own shows. Such great artists
as Larry Goldings, Joey DeFrancesco,
Brother Jack McDuff and Dr.Lonnie
Smith have been visitors to
the Don Shop.
#Q Red Top
Organ Bar the owener, Junichi
Naruse who is the only Organist
in Nagoya.
The owener usually plays B-3
organ in the bar, have organ live
feature
Midori Ono, Atsuko Hashimoto,
etc once per two months.
#3 Rug Time
B-3 organ has being installed
at the shop since April,2002.
Have jazz organ live every Thursday
basically.
We had some Gigs of Dr.Lonnie
Smith, Bill Heid at this shop once.
#4 le club Jazz
A beautiful Hammond B-3 Organ
and Leslie Speaker were installed
at le club Jazz in April of 1999.
Both the Midori Ono Trio and
Atsuko Hashimoto Trio have performed
and recorded in this club.
In January of 2000, Brother Jack
McDuff gave a live performance
and Dr.Lonnie Smith played in
this club in September of 2000.
Midori Ono's Trio performs regularly
at le club Jazz twice each
month.
#5 Bash
This Tokyo jazz club has its
own Hammond B-3 Organ. Most of the
Jazz Organists who visit Tokyo
play in this club. Bash features
a weekly Organ show beginning
at 8:00pm. Br.Jack McDuff also
played in this club in January
of 2000.
